Sexy Skinny Acai Bowl

It seems like every month there's a new food trend buzzing the internet but Acai bowls have proven to outlast those trends and have become a staple breakfast for many people. Not to mention how amazing Acai tastes it's also super healthy and good for you. Acai berries contain antioxidants, fiber and heart healthy fats. I never understood the hype until I finally had the chance to try this special concaution myself, and boy there was no turning back, I was hooked. I knew I needed to try and figure for myself out how I could make this smoothie bowl from the comfort of my very own kitchen. I'm pleased to say that I've finally figured out all the Acai bowl tricks and tips. So today I'm inviting you in to my kitchen to show you exactly how I've mastered this heavenly breakfast. 

The most important ingredient you will need is the Acai puree itself, now this can be a tricky one to find in Dubai, they'd much rather you order an already made Acai bowl on deliveroo but what's the fun in that? I've finally found frozen Acai packets in Dubai at the Organic .... but if online shopping is more of your thing (who's is it not these days?) then here are two websites you can order the exact Acai I use at home!

There are so many different ways to make this bowl your own but today I'll be showing you my personal favourite mixtures and toppings!

What you will need for the mixture: 

  • Acai packet
  • Frozen Banana
  • Frozen Blueberries
  • Choice of non dairy milk: Soya, Almond, Rice, etc

(Again you can switch up these frozen fruits for one's you enjoy more! )

Toppings: 

  • Mango
  • Strawberry
  • Kiwi
  • Banana
  • Pomegrantes
  • Rasberries
  • Blueberries
  • Granola
  • Coconut flakes
  • Goji berries
  • Caco nibs
  • Peanut Butter/Almound butter

Ok ok... the list doesn't end here but these are a handful of the many toppings I like to switch in an out depending on what's already in my fridge!

How to:

First step Mix all your frozen ingredients together in your choice of blender, I have found that my food processor make's it much easier for me to get that thick texture I like but it's defiantly achievable with a regular blender too. Pro tip: don't add a lot of milk in the beginning you can always add more as you're mixing.

 Once mixed you may or may not have to keep adding little spoonfuls of milk OR use a spoon to help mix your ingredients.

 

Then once it's all mixed and to you liking, pour in to a bowl!

 

Now the fun part, TOPPINGS!

Today I added rasberries, blueberries, pomegranates, coconut flakes, dark chocolate nibs.

 

I always see these bowls all pretty and decorated so I tried to get creative myself.

I snapped a quick pic and in about 2 seconds this is what is looked like:

 

Still tasted absolutely AMAZING!
